This week, I count
29 legal events including the 12th Annual MHBA Gala on
3/2. This year's keynote speaker is Sonia Nazario,Pulitzer Prize winning journalist and author of
Enrique’s Journey. As it turns out, there are
two galas on 3/2. The other is a
benefit for the Hennepin County Bar Foundation. Pro Publico Awards will be presented to Cathy Haukedahl (Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid), Jonathan Bye (Lindquist & Vennum), and Lindsay Davis (Minnesota State Bar Associationi).
The MSBA will be at the UST campus on 2/28 to greet students. Members will be on hand to chat about topics not necessarily the focus of a law school experience: the business of law, legal tech, alternative legal careers...Students get free, professional head shots at the networking booth. Plus, the MSBA will be recruiting for volunteer summer projects like the Outstate Practitioner Network; the legal start-up, Citasca; and the development of a new legal calendaring tool.
The RCBA and Frederickson co-sponsor a free CLE, the Annual Judges Panel and Reception on
2/28.
