2:00 pm – Recent Ethics Updates Including Common Stumbling Blocks (1.0 Ethics CLE credit)
This session will focus on recent changes to the Minnesota Rules of Professional Conduct (MRPC) including new developments on advertising rules, confidentiality, and the unauthorized practice of law. We will also discuss the court’s new Legal Paraprofessional Pilot Project and a new Lawyer’s Board Opinion dealing with when a lawyer must tell a client about the lawyer’s “material error." The session will also include a review of common mistakes lawyers make with regards to their ethical responsibilities and advice for how to not fall for ethical traps.
