Admission:
This event is free and open to the public. Admission is $50
for attorneys seeking CLE credit, excluding St. Thomas Law alumni and
mentors.
This public forum is a candid, critical dialogue on public
safety and racial justice, where we will seek to understand other
perspectives, foster mutual respect, build bridges across differences
and promote community engagement. The forum will be held from 4-6 p.m.,
with a light reception following until 6:30 p.m.
Seating is limited; please register by noon on Friday, Sept. 9.

21st Century Policing, and Director of Public Safety for Dekalb County,
Georgia
- Mike Freeman, Hennepin County Attorney
- Mike Goldstein, Chief of Police and Director of Public Safety for the City of Plymouth, Minnesota
- Nekima Levy-Pounds, President of the Minneapolis NAACP
- R.T. Rybak, President and CEO of the Minneapolis Foundation and Former Mayor of the City of Minneapolis
- Nkechi Taifa, Advocacy Director for Criminal Justice for the Open Society Foundations
Moderating the program will be University of St. Thomas School of Law professors Mark Osler and Hank Shea. Opening comments will be provided by Robert Vischer, dean of St. Thomas Law, and closing comments will be made by Dr. Julie Sullivan, president of the University of St. Thomas.
Seating is limited. Elimination of Bias CLE credit will be sought. Registration information will be added the week of Aug. 15.
