Profession
To better understand
our growing, vibrant and diverse community and its impact on our profession, we
must intentionally look at the biases, assumptions and beliefs we carry into our
interactions with clients. We must first focus our efforts inward. The most
effective process to making our profession better is to start by examining
ourselves then move to working together as a collective to make the necessary
changes to our profession. This internal process starts with becoming more aware
of unconscious bias, how pervasive it is our lives and its real implications on
us, our profession.
