Within the next decade, autonomous vehicles and vehicles with crash-avoidance technology will transform the transportation world, promising to significantly reduce traffic injuries and fatalities. But well-publicized incidents demonstrate that autonomous cars will still crash. How will that impact tort liability as we know it? In this CLE, technology lawyer Damien Riehl will examine how autonomous vehicles will likely interact with regulations, legislation, and liability.
Presenter: Damien Riehl is a technology lawyer with experience in legal software design, data privacy, and security. After clerking for the chief judges of the Minnesota Court of Appeals and U.S. District Court in Minnesota, he practiced in complex litigation for a decade at Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi. His practice experience includes data privacy (CIPP/US), patents, copyright, trademarks, business torts, breaches of contract, antitrust, financial litigation, and appeals. He is currently a Vice President at Stroz Friedberg, managing cybersecurity engagements to bolster clients' data security and resilience.
