This week, I count
33 legal events. Today at noon, the American Constitution Society hosts a debate at the University of Minnesota:
The Merits of US Supreme Court Terms, moderated by the Honorable David R. Stras.
One of my favorite law school experiences was in the William Mitchell legal practicum where I watched, via a closed-circuit television, a volunteer jury decide my case. It was...enlightening. On 3/22, the HCBA hosts,
Candid Conversations with the Bench and Bar | Jurors: Unveiling the Mystery:
In this session, actual jurors who have heard and decided cases will give a rare look into jury service and decision making by talking about their experiences.
Students: The
Affinity Bar Symposium is at Dorsey on 3/21 where there's an interesting resume collection process:
We are going to have four boxes where students can deposit their resumes. When registering, employers will have the option of choosing to receive resumes deposited in one of four collection boxes. Resumes will be sent to employers by sector after the event, helping employers get in touch with students they may meet or to actively recruit for jobs and clerkships. Students, bring up to four resumes to drop off for (1) Large firm (25+), (2) Medium/Small Firm (<25), (3) Government/NP, (4) Judges. Employers not attending but interested in the resume collect should email MNAPABA (mnapaba@gmail.com).
Here are 6 free credits (with registration) or $20 at the door (exact cash or check for CLE registration) plus, lunch, at the University of Minnesota on a Saturday no less. It's an interesting program. 'Trainers' (not, 'presenters'), Merve Stolzman, Griffin Ferry, and Fionnuala Ni Aolain will lead the
Humanity in War: An International Law Workshop.
